I have been deeply effected by the site of forest regeneration, whether it be from fire or logging. This stately forest was planned and poured with liquid acrylic paint and silicone oil on wood panel. I covered the panel with two layers of copper foil. I slid the paint around the wooden panel with a palette knife and my fingers, then warmed the oil with a blow torch to activate cell movement in the paint. As the oil warms, it rises through the layers of paint, pushing some colours out of the way to reveal other colours underneath. it's like slow motion fireworks.
