Diane first took an interest in natural living in the early 80s after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Upon discovering synthetic chemicals in many grocery store items, she began researching foods and their potential impact on the immune system. A passion for cooking ensued and this zeal carried over into making products her family used regularly.
Over the years, she delved more deeply into the benefits of Mother Earth. Being in nature helped her become still and increased her emotional well being and physical health. Determined to use Earth’s bounty to reduce the toxins in her life, she began experimenting with teas and skin care products. She’s been formulating and tweaking recipes since.
Our skin is our largest organ and is our body’s interface with the world. Some commercial products contain chemicals that may produce skin problems and some may be carcinogenic. Chemicals applied to the skin penetrate the dermis and enter the bloodstream. The magnitude of potential harm is unknown. All of Diane’s products are made with naturally derived ingredients, many of which are organic. The local herbs and plants she sources are used to infuse the oils that go into many of her products. Synthetic chemicals are never used.
Diane is happily married and lives with her husband in Deep River. She is a mother of two and grandmother of six.
Diane joined the Valley Artisans' Coop in March 2018.
