Eugene Kasaboski is a self-taught woodworker with an eye for design and symmetry. He works with local, domestic and exotic woods, and likes to incorporate materials such as gold leaf, metals, mother of pearl and vegetable ivory into his unusual, one-of-a-kind pieces. Many of his designs utilize timber seldom seen in woodwork such as sumac, hawthorn, and lilac.
An avid bushman, Eugene enjoys the hunt for and harvest of his wood as much as the creative process, and is often heard to lament, “So many bush trails, so little time.”
